It’s finally up. I’ve been promising my poodle and doodle owners a tutorial for brushing out matting in curly coats. Remember their hair is thick and the brush doesn’t hurt them! They will let you know if they are uncomfortable! Last year I joined a group called did you brush it with a spoon ?! It’s always an inside joke between us groomers that owners blame the matting on everyone but themselves. I just want to educate my clients so we can communicate a good routine and have your pup looking its best! The truth is we want to give you those fluffy cute cuts you want too but we have to work together as a team. Miracles cannot happen in 2-6 hours. We can’t erase 3 months of matting due to no brushing, pool swims and home bathing. I’m pretty straight forward with my clients, but I always give them one recovery groom before I shave (which is the pets best interest and most comfortable option). You MUST be consistent with brushing and a groom schedule. Use it as a time to bond with your pup. My guy lays in my lap and falls asleep ! Starting in 2024 our new database will be able to track down who you refurr based off your phone number and doggy’s name ! Its important to bring your dogs in at least every 6- 8 weeks. Brushing, bathing, and proper nail care are a must with any breed at any age. Please dont be embarrassed to ask for help and please think about how uncomfortable it is to not be bathed and cleaned properly. We are here for a reason ! Hope you all got your shopping done!
